Parks Plan Consultations

In 2010, City Council approved the development of a new Parks Plan that will guide acquisition, development, management and operation of the system of public parkland in the City of Toronto over a five-year period. It is our understanding that the plan will also put forward proposals for potential new governance models of parks, to facilitate community involvement through stewardship and volunteering, as well as proposals to engage corporate partners for additional funding, among other things.

A large public consultation effort is being undertaken now on the Parks Plan and we encourage you to learn more about the plan, attend one of the four public consultation meetings, and to take the online survey.

TPSI will be taking part in special stakeholder consultations and will monitor the plan to ensure that it respects democratization and community engagement, and does not lead to the over-commercialization of public spaces.
